Jamieson shatters multiple records with his latest fifer vs India in the WTC final
Kyle Jamieson has become India’s nemesis since his test debut in early 2020. On the 3rd day of the WTC final, he has completed yet another 5 wicket haul after dismissing some top Indian batsmen in this test including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Jamieson shatters multiple records with his latest fifer vs India in the WTC final.
With his latest fifer, Jamieson broke a long-standing record of the highest number of wickets since debuting in 8 tests for New Zealand. With 42 wickets in 8 tests, he surpasses Jack Cowie’s tally of 41 wickets in 8 tests.
Jamieson further has taken the highest number of 5 wicket hauls in the current WTC cycle. This is his 5th fifer and he surpasses Ashwin, Nathan Lyon and Axar Patel. All of whom were tied with 4 five-wicket hauls each. Only Ashwin has the chance to emulate Jamieson as he is also playing in this test.
With his tall height, Jamieson has been causing trouble to all opposition in his short test career. With his ability to extract bounce and move the ball around at uncomfortable lengths despite him not being express fast. On the 2nd day of the WTC final, he bowled slightly fuller but the batsmen are wary to easily come forward to him. Due to his height and ability to extract bounce. He will continue to pose a major danger in the remaining days of the test.
