James Anderson completes 1000 first-class wickets with a great bowling spell
James Anderson continues to make a mockery of the myth that age matters in sport. The evergreen English fast bowling legend even at 38 continues to baffle the cricket fans and experts with his classic and skilful swing bowling.
On 6th July, he became the 216th player in cricket history to reach the outstanding milestone of 1000 first-class wickets by taking 7/19 playing for Lancashire against Kent. His 1000th wicket was Heino Kuhn who got a beautiful delivery that angled in. Pitched and strengthened to take the edge and was caught by keeper Dane Vilas.
Anderson’s first class wickets also includes 617 test wickets , only fast bowler to achieve 600 wicket milestone in tests .
Anderson as usual is lethal in English conditions and became the 14th bowler and 5th pacer. To take 1000 first-class wickets in this century after Andy Caddick, Martin Bicknell, Davon Malcolm and Wasim Akram.
With Anderson in such ominous form, these are big worrying signs for the Indian batting lineup. That was found wanting in the WTC final. India and England will be lock in a 5 test series starting early August and Anderson is expect to play a significant part in that.
