The team of Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in IPL history. This team has won the IPL five times, whereas out of 14 seasons, only two seasons have been such when this team has not reached the playoffs. The strength of this team is captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It is said about Dhoni that he makes young players better and gets the best out of them. The same was seen this season as well. Young batsman Shivam Dube showed a different style this season under Dhoni’s captaincy.

Shivam is considered the best player. But this player playing in IPL since 2019 was not able to give his best. Ever since Shivam came to Chennai, his style has changed. He has started showing the hitting prowess for which he was famous. Shivam has told the reason for this.

Shivam has played in IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. Shivam came to Chennai in 2022 and here he was seen batting differently. His stormy style was shown with Chennai. Talking to the English newspaper Indian Express after Shivam won the IPL-2023 title with Chennai, he said that Dhoni gave him the clarity to play his game. Shivam told that Dhoni had told him his role and said that he has to go to the crease and increase the runrate, even if he gets out early, there will be no problem, but it is necessary for him to complete the task.

Shivam played 16 matches this season and scored 418 runs at an average of 38, including three half-centuries. During this, his strike rate was 158.33. The current season has been the best season of Shivam till date. Last season too, he scored at a strike rate of 156.22. Shivam scored 185 runs in 11 matches at an average of 28.90.

Shivam did his job well in the final and played a big role in helping Chennai win the title by playing a crucial innings. Shivam scored an unbeaten 32 in the final. In the 11th over, Shivam turned the match towards Chennai by hitting two brilliant sixes on Rashid Khan, the best spinner of Gujarat Titans. His strike rate in the final was 152.38.
