Shivam told that Dhoni had told him his role and said that he has to go to the crease and increase the runrate, even if he gets out early, there will be no problem, but it is necessary for him to complete the task.

Shivam played 16 matches this season and scored 418 runs at an average of 38, including three half-centuries. During this, his strike rate was 158.33. The current season has been the best season of Shivam till date. Last season too, he scored at a strike rate of 156.22. Shivam scored 185 runs in 11 matches at an average of 28.90.
Shivam did his job well in the final and played a big role in helping Chennai win the title by playing a crucial innings. Shivam scored an unbeaten 32 in the final. In the 11th over, Shivam turned the match towards Chennai by hitting two brilliant sixes on Rashid Khan, the best spinner of Gujarat Titans. His strike rate in the final was 152.38.
