Spread the love

After a very interesting auction for IPL 2021 with a total purchases made amounting to Rs 145 crores, carrying lots of surprises and making some millionaires , let us look at some of the reactions from players who managed a deal & few of the coaches:

Looking forward to joining @RCBTweets for this years @IPL can’t wait to put everything I have in to helping us lift the trophy!  — Glenn Maxwell

Seriously pumped to be joining such a successful franchise with @Bazmccullum and @KKRiders

at IPL  — Ben Cutting

Very excited to be (re)joining @RCBTweets !! Just a spring chicken last time, hopefully I can help us lift the trophy this time!! —  Dan Christian

Wow, great news to wake up to! Excited for what lies ahead this winter  @mipaltan  —  Jimmy Neesham

Very happy with how things panned out for us @delhicapitals tonight, rounded out our squad strongly in all areas. Can’t wait to get the group together and underway.  —- Ricky Ponting coach Delhi Capitals

We will look at how we will best use him. Obviously, help AB (de Villiers) out and provide extra bit of power in the middle there, and we have got other players line up to do the job, so we (went) after that X-factor player through the middle, and we found that in Glenn Maxwell, so we are delighted,”

——- Mike Hesson  coach RCB

So happy to be joining this awesome team  @PunjabKingsIPL  —  Dawid Malan

Absolutely buzzing to play for CSK this year. Playing under MS Dhoni will be an amazing experience, something which most cricketers look forward to do. Its made my day and year,  — Moeen Ali

I feel like I played a game yesterday. I mentally exhausted myself of feeling all these emotions, of feeling sick and excited. The emotions just take over and you forget you double check (the price he was bought for), you triple check it, you quadruple check it. It took a moment and it’s still sinking in at the moment.  I almost blanked. I was watching it, but I felt like I wasn’t actually watching it. After everything happened you’re obviously really, really excited but then you just hit this massive wall,”

——- Jhye Richardson

“Pretty outrageous really

“I wasn’t expecting too much to be honest going in, I was hoping for a bid or two if possible but it got out of control really.”

—— Riley Meredith ( highest price for non capped overseas player )

“I had a message from Shane Bond (former New Zealand pacer and Mumbai Indians bowling coach) as it was going and he said, ‘How good is this’. I didn’t actually know what the amount of money was, how that translated to New Zealand dollars. It was quite cool to share that moment with him and ride that two or three minutes with him.”    ——– Kyle Jamieson

I am literally like shivering and have no words to explain. That’s not got into my system yet. It is a dream come true. Always idolise Mahi (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) bhai. The way he is as a human and the way he plays the game and finishes the games off. So yeah, this was something I always envied about him.  Now that I will share the dressing room with him , I will learn a lot of things

——- K Gowtham  ( highest price for non capped Indian player)

Since childhood, I have always been a die-hard fan of Mumbai Indians. I would like to thank coaches, owners, and support staff for showing faith in me. I am excited to join the MI paltan,”   —- Arjun Tendulkar

Thank you for showing the faith. Look forward!”

—- Cheteshwar Pujara

I am very excited to be part of Kolkata again, I will do my best to get the results of 2012 and 2014 when we were champions   —— Shakib Al Hasan

“We were looking forward to some smart buys which can balance the core of Punjab Kings squad and strengthen our team structure. We have the perfect balance of youth and experience in the squad. We are confident that we have struck the right chords to come out stronger and better,”

——– Anil Kumble  coach Punjab Kings
