Indian team’s UK break not to be cut short following covid scare in Eng squad
The BCCI as of now is not planning to cut short the break that the Indian players are undergoing for 3 weeks after the WTC final. As per the original plan, the players are going to assemble on 14 July to start the preparations for the England test series. Due to a covid scare in the England squad just before their ODI series against Pakistan. Which has left 7 members of the squad infected including 3 players and a brand new team announced. There were rumours floating around that the Indian players may be asked to cut short their holidays in and; around London and congregate together as a safety measure. However, the BCCI which is keeping the stock of the new developments. Has indicated that their players will continue with their 3-week break.
Few Indian cricketers have shared pictures of their holidays in social media . Ashwin & Ravi Shastri were seen enjoying at Wimbledon while Rishabh Pant was at the Wembley watching the Euros.
BCCI sources said that the players will be tested before being allowed to enter the bio bubble for the England series in the middle of July .
