New Delhi: Indian Navy, Visakhapatnam has entered the quarter-finals of the 31st All India Hitkari Om Nath Sood Memorial Cricket Tournament. Mohit Ahlawat (69 not out) and Hardik Sethi (63 runs) scored half-centuries to help Indian Navy, Visakhapatnam beat Sethi Sports by six wickets. Chief guest Rakesh Rana presented the Kuber Man of the Match award to Mohit Ahlawat. Special guest Mukesh Sharma awarded the consolation prize to Prateek Raman.
Batting first, Sethi Sports team was all-out for 217 runs in 37.1 overs. From Sethi Sports, Prateek Raman remained the top scorer with 61 runs from 61 balls by hitting 4 sixes and 5 fours. Keshav Dabas scored 32 runs. Laxman Singh, Nitin Tanwar and Arun Bamal took two wickets each. Sethi Sports lost their last 5 wickets in just 22 runs.
In reply to target of 218 runs, Navy’s team got double blows in the start of innings. The medium-pacer Rohan Rana gave some hope to Sethi Sports by giving a double blow to the Navy’s team. But Rohan did not get support from the other end. After this, Mohit Ahlawat remained unbeaten on 69 balls with the help of four sixes and seven fours. Hardik Sethi’s impressive knock of 63 runs with the help of a six and eight fours off 70 balls. Captain Anshul Gupta scored 46 before being LBW. Rohan Rana took two wickets for 22 runs.
