Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury, may now be out of the South Africa series. Information is coming out that it may take up to 4 weeks for his injury to heal. As such, it is looking difficult for him to play in the 5 T20 series starting from June 9 against South Africa. The 5 match T20 series will be played between India and South Africa right after the end of IPL. Suryakumar Yadav injured his left hand while scoring runs during the match against Gujarat Titans on May 6. His hand was swollen. Due to this he had to withdraw from IPL.
Cricketbuzz has revealed through Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources that Suryakumar Yadav will be away from the cricket ground for at least four weeks. He was injured in the match against Gujarat Titans.
Mumbai Indians had issued a statement last Monday, in which it was written, “Suryakumar Yadav has a strain in his left arm muscle and he will no longer play the remaining matches of IPL. He has been advised to rest in consultation with the BCCI medical team. ” Suryakumar has not visited the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru since his injury was discovered and will be scanned in Mumbai on Wednesday. After receiving the report, he may go to NCA.
According to Cricketbuzz, a 4 week break does not mean that Suryakumar will be completely out of the South Africa series. He can be selected for this series with conditions. However, it requires him to be fit. The team will be selected for the T20I series against South Africa after the IPL final . Only then will the situation regarding Suryakumar Yadav be clear.
Suryakumar Yadav was associated with Mumbai Indians in the second week of IPL due to injury. He was also not part of Team India in the home series against Sri Lanka due to a wrist injury. Before being out of IPL 2022, Suryakumar had scored 309 runs in 8 matches thanks to three fifties.
