India defeated New Zealand badly in the third and deciding match of the three-match T20 series and won the series 2-1. Team India has won this 8th consecutive series in T20 format. At the same time, the Indian cricket team is invincible from the last 12 T20 series. India had to face the last defeat in 2021 on the tour of Sri Lanka by 2-1. In the decider match of the series played in Ahmedabad, India defeated the Kiwi team by 168 runs. Playing first in this match, India made its fifth highest score of 234 runs in T20 International. In reply, the visiting team was reduced to just 66 runs in 12.1 overs. This is Team India’s biggest win in T20 format in terms of runs. Earlier, India had defeated Ireland by 143 runs on 29 June 2018.

In this match, Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first. Ishaan Kishan returned to the pavilion cheaply after scoring 1 run being lbw to Bracewell . However Shubman Gill solidified his claim in T20 after ODI as well. He played a brilliant innings of 126 not out off 63 balls full of dazzling shots . Apart from him, Rahul Tripathi also played a brilliant innings of 44 runs off 22 balls with high quality improvised shots . Surya Kumar Yadav played a quickfire 24 run cameo before being brilliantly caught by Bracewell off Tickner and later Hardik scored a breezy 30 . Man of the match Gill (126 off 63 balls ) became the 7th batsman for India to score a century in T20 Internationals and his strokeplay were both sublime and powerful as he seem to have a lot of time to play his shots against the quickest bowlers . His pull shots were awesomely struck and powerful and his drives and flicks were as sublime as ever .

After this, India’s fast bowlers blazed in the bowling today. Hardik Pandya took 4 wickets, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Mavi and Umran Malik took 2 wickets as the Kiwis battimg fell apart due to scoreboard pressure as they lost wickets in clumps . Devon Conway their mainstay was out cheaply and the others in the top order were unsure how to tackle the situation against some solid Indian bowling till Daryl Mitchell (35) came out and hit some glorious straight sixes off the fast bowlers with brilliant follow through
