After their convincing win over England in the 2nd test , India moved from 4th spot to 2nd spot of the World test Championships percentage points table .

New Zealand with 70 points have already qualified to play the final at Lords in June and have played all their Test Championships series  .

India after their 2nd test win over England has reached 69.7 % points and therefore are just 0.5 points ahead of Australia who are at 3rd spot with 69.2 points and are not going to tour South Africa due to covid health  concerns  . Hence Australia’s percentage points  will not change.

England , who were at 2nd spot after the 1st test win have now slumped to 4th spot after 2nd test defeat with 67 points currently.  Rest of the nations are not in contention with Pakistan , a distant 5th spot with 43 points after their completed fixtures.

In current scenario, India need to win one of their remaining two tests and draw the other to qualify . A 2-1 or a 3-1 margin win will take India to WTC finals . England on other hand need to win their remaining two tests for a 3-1 margin to qualify. A drawn series between England and India  will take Australia to the finals.

Australia could have written their own destiny had they toured South Africa and won by 2-1 . However now they have to depend on India v England verdict .

Hence very intriguing scenarios are set up and all eyes will be on the remaining two India v England tests at 1 lac capacity stadium at Ahmedabad.
