Ind v SL series – Rescheduled due to covid case in Srilanka squad

It was almost inevitable.

With a second member of the Srilankan squad, the batting coach Grant Flower getting covid infected, the hosts have decided to defer the dates of the matches of the India series. Earlier the ODI series was to start from 13 June onwards but it is likely to get deferred by 4-5 days ( tentative start date 17 June) as the Srilankan squad will need to serve an extended period of quarantine due to the covid positive cases of two of its members, the team analyst and the batting coach.

Ind v SL series – Rescheduled due to covid case in Srilanka squad. This means the series is likely to end around the end of July or the beginning of August. As it will all depend on the fresh set of dates for the 6 white ball games.

This also means that a possible departure of Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Paddikal to England. After the Srilankan series will also get further deferred.

Sri Lanka cricket will communicate BCCI , the fresh set of dates for the matches .
