Ind v Eng Test: Watch Virat Kohli sledge Jonny Bairstow, who gave fitting reply with flurry of boundaries

The game of the third day of the 5th Test match between India and England has started with England  well behind India .  In the first innings, the Indian team had scored 416 runs.  By the stumps on the second day, England had lost 5 wickets for 84 runs with  Ben Stokes, and Jonny Bairstow, was at the crease.  In this match, till now there was not a single words exchanged  between the players of both the teams, but it started in the opening over of the third day.

In the 32nd over, there was an argument between Virat Kohli and Bairstow.  Virat was constantly passing comments from slips to distract.  Bairstow also retaliated and Virat called him  gestured to shut up.  The two came face to face in the middle of the pitch.  As soon as the over was through , the umpire gave an explanation to Kohli.  Opposing captain Ben Stokes was there.  He looked at Kohli and smiled.  Tried to reconcile the two, this effort also brought some result , when Kohli went back to his position patting Bairstow’s back.  Watch below video

Even though Virat Kohli and Johnny Bairstow had an argument on the third day, returning to the pavilion after the second day’s play, the two seemed to be good mates .  Virat was resting his hand on Bairstow’s shoulder and the two were talking.  Now the debate started the very next day and situation did hot up .

That exchange with Virat  , seem to ignite Bairstow  as he proceeded to absolutely hammer the Indian bowling attack to all parts of the field with explosive strokeplay and therefore he moved from 13 to 91 in no time .  Hence the sledging by Virat of Bairstow  proved to be a bit costly for India .

Bairstow completed his fifty off 80 balls.  On the second day, he was playing by scoring 12 runs off 47 balls.  He batted vigorously against all Indian bowlers, including captain Bumrah.  However England lost their captain Ben Stokes (26) who was out to a rash shot after being already dropped twice. At lunch, after a rain stoppage , England reached 200/6 with Bairstow after being needled by Kohli, raced away to 91 not out.
