Chamika Karunaratne receives bat from Hardik Pandya 

India vs Sri Lanka T20I series has begun and India again has shown a promising start. India won the first match of the 3-match series which must have boosted the team’s morale. On the other side, Sri Lanka also gave India tough competition. Sri Lanka’s new find Chamika Karunaratne made headlines with his game as well as the sweet gesture that he received from Hardik Pandya who happens to be Chamika’s role model. Chamika has been made a part of the T20I series after his impressive performance in ODIs.

Coach, Mickey Arthur has called him the ‘find of the series’.
Chamika has started great as during the very first match he got the prized wicket of India skipper, Shikhar Dhawan. He did not even let Dhawan complete his half-century. He had to go back to the pavilion 4 runs short of a 50. Sadly, Chamika couldn’t show the same magic as a batsman. He was clean bowl by Bhuvneshwar Kumar with only three runs in his kitty. Though Sri Lanka lost by 38 runs but Chamika would cherish the memories of this match forever. He received a bat from his role model, Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder took to Instagram to share this precious moment of his life.
Chamika wrote, “Absolutely honoured to have received a bat from my role model @hardikpandya93, on my T20 debut. You are an amazing human being and I am truly touch by your thoughtful gesture. I’ll never forget this day. May God bless you always!”


Team India player Hardik player displayed a sweet gesture for Chamika on the field but this doesn’t mean that the team let the Lankans have it easy. India already has gained a 1-0 lead in the match series. The next game which is schedule for Tuesday can be a series decider.
