Gavaskar predicts a test series loss for England whatever the conditions
Former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar has come out with optimistic predictions in favour of India ahead of the 1st test between India & England at Trent bridge. Sunny feels that India will beat England 4-0 in the series if the weather is drier. He further added that India will still win the series 3-1 even if the weather is less dry and there are rains.
Gavaskar reasoned that England batting is very brittle. It was reflected in the 2 test series vs New Zealand in June which England lost 1-0. Gavaskar predicts a test series loss for England whatever the conditions.
As for Kohli vs Anderson duel, Sunny feels that the Indian captain. Who negotiated Anderson very well during the last tour by adapting beautifully to the conditions. Showing assurance outside off stump will come up triumphs again. As Anderson is now 3 years older and Kohli is in his early thirties. Which is generally regarded as the peak time for a class batsman.
It remains to be seen how the Indian batting shapes up in this series after the disappointments of 2018. Also the Indian bowling for all its brilliance in thelast five years have struggled to get the tailenders out which proved very costly in the 2018 series when the England lower order led by Sam Curran piled up runs to rescue the home side repeatedly.
The first test starts at 3.30 PM IST from 4 August and can be viewed on Sony Network
