Gambhir’s calling of Hockey bronze bigger than cricket world cup wins leads to trolling by fans
India men hockey’s bronze medal win in Tokyo 2020 Olympics triggered lots of excitement in social media with cricketers and fans posting great messages hailing the Hockey heroes after their first Olympic medal win in 40 years.
However, the message that Gautam Gambhir posted on Twitter attracted a lot of controversies. Gambhir said that the hockey bronze in Tokyo Olympics is better than the cricket world cup wins of 1983, 2007 and 2011.
It may be mentioned that Gambhir himself had big contributions in two of those world cup wins . In the inaugural T20I World cup win he scored 75 in the finals and in the 2011 World cup win he scored 97 in the finals .
