Krunal Pandya close contacts to miss second T20I
More updates have come relating to India v Sri Lanka 2nd T20I
As per the latest updates, few players who were in close contact with covid infected Krunal Pandya in the last couple of days have been identified. Though they have returned negative tests, their close contact with Krunal has made them go into isolation.
All other players from both teams have returned negative tests.
Krunal Pandya close contacts to miss second T20I. As of now some of the players identified and are supposed to go into isolation protocols are apparently Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav, K Gowtham and Yazuvendra Chahal.
In all probability, all the above players won’t be allow to take part in the 2nd T20I to start with. This means that India may have to field a depleted side in the 2nd T20I. With players like Devdutt Paddikal, Ruturaj Gaekwad, Nitish Rana and even standby fast bowler Arshdeep Singh likely to get a game. If 8 players in close contact with Krunal are not allow to play. Then India will have to play an XI from the remaining twelve players.
Krunal is symptomatic with cough & throat pain and is surely out of the series. As per protocols ,he will have to serve his quarantine period & return with negative tests before travelling back to India.
Both the boards will be further getting together in online mode to come out with a solution to this peculiar issue.
Also, the travelling plans of the two cricketers Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav to England. Has been thrown into a bit of jeopardy with Surya apparently going into isolation.
We expect for more developments on this scenario.
