Fawad & Shaheen puts Pakistan ahead in 2nd test v West Indies 

Fawad Alam’s resurgence in test cricket after 10 years in the wilderness continued as he gets his 5th test century in just his 13th test. The 35-year-old left-hander with a Chandrapaul like stance played another resolute knock of 124 not out to take Pakistan to 302/9 Declared. By the end of the day, Shaheen Afridi caused enough damage to leave West Indies reeling at 38/3 at the close on 3rd day after a rain washout 2nd day . 


Starting at 212/4 Pakistan lost Faheem Ashraf(26) early lbw to Jayden Seales. Soon Jason Holder got into the act to get 2 in 2 balls. Rizwan (31) was lbw and Nauman Ali (0) caught behind.


However, Fawad Alam took charge after resuming his innings. Getting his much-awaited 100 with a pull shot of Mayers. Fawad gradually took Pakistan to 302/9 with the help of Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi. It was another of Fawad’s skilled knocks. He was resolute all along in his 124 not out to put Pakistan in a good position. Fawad & Shaheen puts Pakistan ahead in 2nd test v West Indies.


For the Windies, Roach and Seales got 3 wickets each bowling impressively while Holder got 2 wickets.

In reply, West Indies fragile batting line up was rattle by Shaheen Afridi. With pinpoint accurate bowling he got Powell lbw and Braithwaite clean bowled through the gate. Later Faheem Ashraf produced a beautiful incutter to knock over the usually dependable Roston Chase. As West Indies were left reeling at 39/3 at close for the 3rd day.


With 2 days to go. Pakistan bowlers have to go all out to extract a result and level the series.
