England announces 17 member squad for 1st two tests vs India
Ben Stokes and Sam Curran are back as England announces 17 member squad for 1st two tests vs India. The test series is starting from 4th August onwards next month.
The squad includes 4 openers in Rory Burns, Dom Sibley, Zak Crawley and Haseeb Hameed. The last named made his test debut vs India in 2016 but since then failed to make the England test squad due to lack of form. Probably Zak Crawley will be slated to bat at number 3.
Ben Stokes comes back after skipping the New Zealand test series due to injury and Sam Curran is back after a break .
The bowling attack comprises of 4 fast bowlers plus Sam Curran and Stokes .
Ollie Robinson who was temporarily suspended due to an investigation of his 7 year old racist remarks is free to play again after his brilliant test debut vs New Zealand early June.
Two notable absentees are Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes both of whom are nursing injuries and are expected to play later in the series .
