Johny Bairstow was excluded from the England 22 member squad which they have announced for the 1st test at Brisbane starting from 8th December. The squad includes lone spinner Jack Leach and 4 fast bowlers Broad, Robinson , Wood and bowling allrounder Chris Woakes . Ben Stokes is the 5th seamer of the squad .
Dawid Malan, who has made a test comeback vs India in last August , finds a spot in the team . It may be mentioned that he scored a gritty 140 in the last Ashes in Australia at Perth .
England has retained both the openers that played in the India series , Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed .
Malan would bat at 3 , Root at 4 and Stokes at 5 .
As stated earlier, James Anderson was ruled out of the first test due to a calf injury
