Dravid re-applies for Head of cricket NCA post
Rahul Dravid has reapplied for the position of head of Cricket at the NCA. A developement that should end speculations about him replacing Ravi Shastri. As head coach of the senior National side after the T20 World Cup in November.
So far Dravid’s is reportedly the only application received by the BCCI. After they invited applications for the post of NCA Head of cricket. The cut-off date for receiving applications was said to be 15th August. But it is learnt that BCCI has extended the cut off time by a few more days to allow others more time to apply
This will be the 2nd consecutive two-year term for Dravid. If he gets selected again after his first two year term expires.
Ravi Shastri is expected to step down from the Indian Head coach post after the T20I world cup. Hence rumours were on that Rahul Dravid will fill in his shoes. However, it appears that Dravid is not too keen on extensive travelling and strict bio bubble life at present and hence would like to stay on in his home city and serve Indian cricket by creating a strong supply chain of first-class cricketers. Dravid re-applies for Head of cricket NCA post, almost rules himself out of India’s next Head coach post.
Dravid was the coach of the second string Indian team that visited Sri Lanka last month for the white ball tour and there only he did not sound too keen when asked about taking over the senior Indian team.
Hence BCCI will have to look elsewhere to fill in the India’s head coach post if and when Shastri steps down.
