It may be mention that India batted first in that game and after the early loss of Ramesh, piled up a mammoth 373/6 after Sourav Ganguly (183) and Rahul Dravid (145) had a mighty partnership of 318 runs for the 2nd wicket with both batsmen decimating the reigning champions Srilanka’s bowling attack.
SriLanka was bowled out for 216 and India won a one-sided game by 157 runs.
