Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly had some infamous clashes off the field in the last 5-6 years. The incidents went back to the playing days when Shastri refused to take Sourav once in the team bus to the removal of Shastri as Team India coach in 2016 to finally  Shastri’s ignorance towards the now BCCI head while hailing the successful organisation of IPL 2020 in his tweet last year.

When Shastri was removed from the post of team India coach in 2016 by the panellists which had Tendulkar, Laxman and Ganguly, Ravi was livid on Ganguly who apparently did not attend Shastri’s online presentation due to another meeting which clashed with the timings.


Later when the IPL 2020 was brilliantly organise in the UAE despite the covid19 challenges. Shastri congratulated the BCCI but did not mark Sourav Ganguly in the response.

“Don’t interview Shastri in the morning” : Sourav Ganguly reacts to Shastri’s comments .In an interview with times now senior editor Navika Kumar, to be aired tonight at 9 PM primetime Shastri was asked about an incident several years ago when he refused to take Sourav Ganguly in the team bus as Sourav was late to report. 


Shastri responded by saying that the team bus will not wait for someone if he comes late. Whoever he is…& it just happened to be Sourav that day  


Navnit Kumar mention here that when  Sourav Ganguly was asked about this he said you should not interview Ravi in the morning, it’s better to interview him in the evening when he remembers better. 


On his equation with Sourav, Shastri stressed that there are no ill feelings with Sourav. With whom he met recently when he visited London. He further added that Sourav and his relation goes back to several years. When they both played together for the same company. He followed the young and talented Sourav’s progress a lot in his early days as a cricketer.


Shastri also jokingly said that the media likes all these stories like bhelpuri and chat and it increases the viewerships.
