Dhawan hints at full strength XI ahead of 1st T20I
Amid reports of Shaw, Paddikal and Suryakumar being requested in the squad for the England test series, Shikhar Dhawan has disclosed that the team management is yet to receive any communication from BCCI in this respect. Hence the team management in Srilanka is going ahead with their plans for playing their best possible XI in the first T20I.
India has won the ODI series 2-1 and after taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the first two games. The team think tank played 5 debutants in the final ODI. Dhawan hints at full strength XI ahead of 1st T20I.
Dhawan has indicated that he wants to go that route by winning the first two T20Is. Taking the series and depending upon the situation giving the reserve players opportunity in the final game of the series.
“If we win two matches, then we have options to play any combination we want to. Otherwise, our main goal is to play the best XI to win the series. That’s our first priority. After that, if we can seal it like we did in the ODIs, we can think of experimenting.” Dhawan said.
Dhawan feels that after winning the 3rd ODI the Srilankan team will give India tough competition in the T20I series. But said that the team is ready and looking forward to it. Dhawan said that with an amazing environment being created within the team. Everyone is looking forward to performing at their best.
