Delhi Challengers reached pre-quarter-finals of the Om Nath Sood Cricket

New Delhi: Delhi Challengers entered the pre-quarter-finals of the 31st All India Hitkary Om Nath Sood Memorial Cricket Tournament being played at the Rashtriya Swabhiman Khel Parisar ground. Delhi Challengers registered a victory over Wonders Club, Noida by 46 runs on the basis of the Duckworth Lewis (DLS) method. In a victory of Delhi Challengers, Sameer Chaudhary (74 runs) and Vaibhav Rawal (52) hit half-centuries.   

Chief Guest Sanjay Pandey (Business Development Manager, Kuber) conferred the Kuber Man of the Match award to Karan Sharma and also presented the Parky Consolation prize to Sameer Chaudhary.

Batting first, Wonders Club, Noida scored 247 runs for 8 wickets in 40 overs with help of Karan Sharma’s fine century. Karan Sharma scored 115 runs off 90 balls by hitting 4 sixes and 11 fours. Jayvir Singh played an inning of 48 runs in 52 balls with the help of 1 six and 4 fours. Asif Mansuri took 3 and Amit Nagar took two wickets.

In reply to the target of 248 runs, The Delhi Challengers team reached 197 runs for 3 wickets in 28 overs at the same time that there was a strong thunderstorm and rain. This caused the match to stop and had to resort to achieving match results through the DLS method. When the match stopped, the Delhi Challengers team was 46 runs ahead of their target at that time. For Delhi Challengers, Sameer Chaudhary played an inning of 74 runs in 69 balls by hitting 3 sixes and 6 fours and Vaibhav Rawal scored 52 runs in 51 balls by hitting 1 six and 3 fours. Uwaiz Chaudhary hit 42 runs off 19 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 3 fours. Shiva Singh took two wickets. Due to the lockdown imposed by the Delhi Government, matches will not be played tomorrow and Sunday.
