Dawid Malan called up for 3rd test v India

As expected, England to revive their dipping batting fortunes in this series has called up Dawid Malan for the 3rd test at Leeds. Malan replaces woefully out of sorts opener  Dom Sibley while Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed both keeps their spots for the next test.

It is expected that Hameed who is originally an opener. Will be pushed up to open alongside Burns while Malan will take over the number 3 spot.

Malan, aged 33, who is essentially a part of the T20I set up for England. With 43 average and 139 strike rate. Has earlier played 15 tests for England scoring 724 runs at 27 average with one century. Which was scored at Perth in the Ashes series of 2017-18. He scored a fighting 140 in that Perth test.

Dom Sibley ,who has failed to pass 35 in his last 15 test innings. Looked completely out of sorts against a potent Indian pace attack.

England had retained Mark Wood in the 15 man squad. Although Wood is still doubtful for that test due to his shoulder injury. If Wood misses out, the most likely replacement could be Saqib Mahmood. Who was very impressive with his performance vs Pakistan in the ODIs which his ability to swing it at pace.
