CSK batting star creates drama by tweeting  retirement news and then deleting the same

Chennai Super Kings’ swashbuckling batsman Ambati Rayudu had announced his retirement on Saturday in the middle of the IPL, but after some time he deleted his tweet.  Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement on social media.  He wrote in the tweet, ‘I am happy to announce that this will be the last in the IPL season.  Playing in the league has been the best for me.  I have been part of two big teams for 13 years.  It was a wonderful journey being a part of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.  Thanks to them for this.

Ambati Rayudu has scored 271 runs in 12 matches played so far in IPL 2022 at an average of 27.10.  In this season, one half-century has come off his bat.

Rayudu was with Chennai Super Kings since 2018.  During this, he also won titles with CSK in 2018 and 2021.  According to Cricinfo, after the tweet of Rayudu’s retirement, the Chennai Super Kings management spoke to him.  After this the batsman deleted his tweet.  This is not the first time Rayudu has withdrawn his decision on retirement.  In 2019, he announced his retirement from all formats even after he was not selected in the World Cup squad.  But, then took a U-turn and returned to domestic and IPL cricket.

Rayudu is among the top 10 most experienced cricketers in the IPL and is the second most successful IPL cricketer with five titles.  Only Rohit Sharma (six) has more IPL titles than him.  His five IPL titles (with Kieron Pollard) are the joint-second most.

Playing under Rohit’s captaincy, Rayudu won IPL titles in 2013, 2015 and 2017 with Mumbai and then won IPL trophies in 2018 and 2021 with his current team Super Kings.  Rayudu missed the first two years because of his association with ICL.  Rayudu has played 187 IPL matches so far.  In this, he has 4187 runs and 22 fifty.  Apart from this, he has also scored a century.  Even though Rayudu is playing IPL.  But he is rarely seen in domestic cricket.

Apparently  the CSK management spoke to Rayudu after his sudden retirement  tweet . The CSK CEO  Kashi Vishwanathan told Sportsstar, ‘I spoke to him (Ambati) and he is not retiring.  He was disappointed with his performance and hence he did that tweet but he has deleted it.  He is definitely not retiring after this season.

Hence, as of now Rayudu to continue his IPL career.

The Rayudu retirement drama was hilariously received in the social media . Few funny reactions from the fans doing the rounds .
