Brilliant hundreds from Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan saved England from early batting crisis and helped the tourists to put on an imposing total for Jofra Archer to produce a fine bowling spell to get England a fine win over South Africa.


Batting first England was  rocked early by Lungi Ngidi who send back Roy, Duckett and Brook in quick succession to rock the tourists but Malan and Jos Buttler got into a dazzling 232 run stand in which both the batters executed breathtaking shots all around the ground . They totally dominated the home team bowling and put the tourirsts in a strong position. After Malan (118) got out Moeen played a rapid cameo of 41 off 23.balls while Buttler finally scored 131 and England finally set an imposing 347 target for South Africa.  For the Proteas , Ngidi took 4 wickets and Jansen took 2 wickets

The home team staryed the chase promisingly with Bavuma (35) playing dazzling shots before  getting out . Reeza Hendricks played a classy 52 but van Dussen (5) was dismissed cheaply . Markram and Klaasen were batting confidently and was building a good stand before Markram (39) made his exit which opened the floodgates for Jofra Archer to rip through the middle order by bowling with intelligence and at good pace .

The lower order got rattled as Miller (13) could not fire and Jansen (12) fell cheaply . Klaasen (80) and Parnell (34) tried to fight till the end but England got timely wickets and finally Jofra Archer wiped off the tail to finish with 6/40 and winning the match for England in style .  However South Africa won the series by 2-1 by winning the first two games
