Cheteshwar Pujara is a brilliant player but his talent has been confined to Test cricket. He is considered to be one of the best players in Test cricket but has gone unsold for the last 6 years. 2021 has brought a new beginning for this Test specialist and finally, he has been bought by Chennai Super Kings at his base price of Rs. 50 lakhs. Pujara has been a part of 2 other IPL franchises in the past. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings and now Chennai Super Kings is going to be the third team that Pujara Is going to represent.

Would he make it to playing XI?

Although Pujara has been bought by the franchise there is a huge question that the fans have been asking since the auction and that is whether Pujara would be able to make it into the playing XI of CSK. Brett Lee, a former Australian cricket legend feels that Pujara is exceptional when he plays a test match but he is skeptical about this performance in the T20s. He feels that Pujara will face the struggle of scoring runs quickly. This is something that Pujara is not known for which makes his inclusion in the playing XI a bit dicey.

Pujara is a talented player

Brett Lee said that his technique and talent are not be doubted. He is an exceptional player with great determination. But he also specified that he is not meant for T20s and “this isn’t Test cricket”. The match gets over in 90 minutes which is 20 overs and this is the only time that you get to perform.
