Breaking: Head coach Ravi Shastri to miss the remainder of the Ind v Eng test series
In a big news the Indian Head Coach Ravi Shastri will undergo a 14-day quarantine, which rules out his presence in the dressing room for the 5th Test match against England.
It may be recalled that on the morning of the 4th day of the Oval test the news came out that Ravi Shastri was covid positive and he along with the bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach R Shridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Patel had to go in quarantine. The last three named were in closest contact with Shastri.
Now Shastri will be on a strict 14 day quarantine period and he will not only be missing the 5th test but won’t be returning home with the team. Breaking: Head coach Ravi Shastri to miss the remainder of the Ind v Eng test series.
While India is without a physio now, batting coach Vikram Rathour, who is actually favoured to take over after Shastri’s contract ends, will be the acting coach for the remainder of the series.
With England needing 291 more runs to win with 10 wickets intact on the final day of the Oval test, the presence of Ravi Shastri in the Indian dressing room will be badly missed by the players .
