The Olympics which were supposed to be held in 2020. In Tokyo was deferred to 2021 due to the covid pandemic. The greatest sporting show on earth will be held in Tokyo in Japan. From 23rd July 2021 onwards for 2 weeks and will end around 8 August.

It is learnt that Rs 7.5 crores out of the 10 crores will be used for promotional purposes in the lead up to the mega event though in the BCCI rule book it says at a maximum amount of Rs 2.5 crores of liquid funds may be used for that purpose.

BCCI will also form a committee that will look into the formulation of a compensation for the senior domestic cricketers. Who have lost out on match fees after the Ranji trophy has been cancelled due to the covid pandemic.

Moreover, after ICC has drawn an events schedule from 2024 to 2031 recently, BCCI will apply for hosting rights for 2025 champions trophy, 2028 T20I World cup and 2031 ODI World cup .

Currently the BCCI is negotiating for hosting of the T20I world cup. This year in India on which a final decision will be reached by 28 June.
