BCCI poised to complete sale of 2 additional IPL franchisees by July 2021
In keeping with the plans for having 2 new IPL teams from 2022 onwards. BCCI has already started preparations for the sale of 2 new IPL franchisees. BCCI poised to complete sale of 2 additional IPL franchisees by July 2021.
in view of the IPL 2021 ending in October , the board plans to do away with the sale of the new IPL teams by the end of July for which the tender is expected to be floated soon . Few parties have already expressed their interest in the bid and as per inside news the base price would be in the region of 250 million .
IPL is constantly played with 8 teams since 2008 but only in 2010 with the addition of Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers IPL had 10 teams.
From 2021 only , IPL was supposed to have 10 teams but due to the covid pandemic the plans were postponed .
With the mega auction happening early 2022 and IPL 2021 ending only in October. The BCCI in order to give more time to all the teams including the new ones. Want to complete the sale of the 2 fresh teams.
