BCCI looks to improve payments for domestic cricketers
In recent weeks there have been lots of debates amongst domestic cricket circles. BCCI for better packets for domestic first-class cricketers. Allegations floated thick and fast that BCCI has been too obsessed with the image of the IPL & income from that source.
Of late sources in BCCI has also started to realise the importance of improving the financial conditions of domestic cricketers. Who have not got any opening in IPL. Therefore have to rely on domestic tournaments for their source of income.
With the covid pandemic hitting the World including India on a large scale. The domestic cricketers’ financial condition took a big hit as there was no domestic cricket for the period 2020-21.
However now BCCI is poised to resume domestic cricket and already news are coming in that financial compensation. Is also been decided though not officially announced. BCCI looks to improve payments for domestic cricketers.
As reported by Dainik Jagran, the famous Hindi daily. A BCCI official informed that domestic cricketers who have played 20 or more domestic matches. Will get Rs 60000 per day from next season. Instead of the current Rs 35000 and cricketers with experience of fewer than 20 games will be paid Rs 45000 per day.
This is indeed good news and should help the domestic players to be financially more comfortable going forward in current difficult times.
