BCCI has invited job applications for Head Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. A position currently held by the former Indian captain, Rahul Dravid.
David’s 2-year contract ends after he was appointed in July 2019 as the head of cricket at NCA. Dravid had extensively worked with the under 19 and India A squads before he became NCA head in 2019.
Dravid is likely to reapply for a 2-year extension, the last day for applications is 15th August 2021. BCCI invites job applications for the head of cricket at NCA.
However with Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri’s tenure ending after the T20 World Cup, there is a possibility of Rahul Dravid being elevated to Shastri’s post. Shastri is 59, and the upper age limit for the post of the Head coach. As well as the Head of cricket of NCA is 60 years.
Dravid did not give away anything when he was asked about taking over the Indian senior team’s responsibility. While he was in Sri Lanka with the 2nd string Indian team for the white ball series.
Therefore it remains to be seen whether Dravid applies for the NCA head post again. Or wait to take over the responsibility of the Indian senior team.
