BCCI criticized for holding back prize money distribution of women’s T20I World cup
The women’s T20I world cup was held in Australia in March 2020 but till today the prize money of $ 500000/- earned by the women cricketers are not yet distributed amongst the players. This news item was flash across all the media channels. It has led to massive reactions against BCCI on social media.
Bcci sources have reacted to this and confirmed that this payment will be processed by the end of this week. They further tried to defend the delay by stating that due to the covid pandemic. The various departments within BCCI could not function for several months leading to many such other delays. The official also mentioned that payments for various tournaments normally takes around 6 months to clear and not paid off instantly.
