It took ages for Bangladesh to win a T20   vs Australia and now they won 2 on consecutive days !!   Another horror show by the Aussies against spin and on the slowish surface as young Afif Hossain showed great composure for a 21-year-old to take Bangladesh over the line in a nervy chase.

Batting first Australia again lost their openers cheaply within another unproductive powerplay. However, Mitch Marsh and Moses Henriques added 57 crucial runs for the 3rd wicket to set the Aussies well on their way to 150. However, Henriques (30) went for an illadvised sweep off Shakib and exposed his stumps to be bowled. This set up another collapse with Marsh (45) finally falling at 99/4 followed by a horror show by Wade and the lower order as Australia struggled to reach 121/7 in 20 overs, a score well below par.

Mustafizur (3/23) with his cutters was the most successful bowler. Shoriful (2/27), Mehedi (1/12) & Shakib(1/22) were nagging in their lengths as the Aussies found them tough to get away.

Bangladesh innings also had a similar pattern to the Aussies in the first 10 overs. The openers fell cheaply to the pacers. Shakib (26) and Mehedy (23) held the innings together as the spinners Agar and Zampa were very tight with their lengths. However, 3 quick wickets swayed the game in Australia’s favour. From 67/5, youngsters Afif Hussain (37 not out off 31 balls) and Nurul Hassan (23no) got together to steer Bangladesh home against a testing bowling attack showing exemplary temperament and common sense. Afif was extremely impressive with his strokeplay as Bangladesh reached the target with 8 balls to spare and won by 5 wickets.

Scores Australia  121/7, Bangladesh 123/5
