Bangladesh dish out a humiliating 4-1 T20 series loss to Australia

Australia just could not wriggle out of the spin web throughout the short tour & meekly surrendered to Bangladesh in the 5 match T20I series by 4-1.

Batting first Bangladesh was consistently rocked by the regular fall of wickets. Opener Naim (23) was the highest scorer and none from Shakib (11), Soumya Sarkar (18) & Mahmudullah (19) could get a bigger knock.  For Australia, the seamers Ellis  (2/16) and Christian (2/17) were successful and the spinners Zampa and Agar were outstanding again.  Bangladesh finally made 122/8 ,

In reply, Australia immediately started losing wickets with Dan Christian (3) opening and getting out quickly and the normally prolific Marsh (4) too going cheaply. Bangladesh dish out a humiliating 4-1 T20 series loss to Australia.

Wade (22) tried to hit out but was bowled by Shakib. Of the rest of the batters, only McDermott (17) reached double figures after which it was a horror show right till the end. As wickets tumbled one after another and Australia were blown away for 62 in 13 overs.

Shakib Al Hassan (4/9) had astonishing figures as he bowled with skills and flair. Saifuddin (3/12) was superb too as the Aussies continued to read spin poorly and presented yet another shocking batting performances.

Shakib was the man of the match and the player of the series.

This is a sweet win for Bangladesh, one of their most memorable in their cricket history. With a fine array of spinners, they can cause a few problems in the world T20I  to other fancied teams.

For Australia of course their main players will be back. But that does not absolve them from their abject manner of tackling spin albeit on tailored pitches.  Lots of headaches for their coach and selectors as they approach the T20 world cup.

Scores-   Bangladesh  122/8 ,  Australia   62
