New Delhi: Bal Bhawan International School, Dwaraka has entered the quarter-finals of the 31st All India Hitkary Om Nath Sood Memorial Cricket Tournament being played at the Shivaji College ground. Bal Bhawan International School, Dwaraka registered a victory of 8 wickets over West Delhi Cricket Academy by remaining 47 balls. In a victory of Bal Bhawan International school, Nikhil Gautam (118) hit a fine century and Arpit Rana played an inning of 73.

Chief Guest Vasdev Gambhir conferred the Kuber Man of the Match award to Nikhil Gautam and also presented the Parky Consolation prize to Akshay Saini.

Batting first, West Delhi Cricket Academy scored 246 runs for 7 wickets in 40 overs with help of Akshay Saini and Pradeep Malik’s fine half-century. Akshay Saini scored 93 runs off 71 balls by hitting 3 sixes and 6 fours. Pradeep Malik played an inning of 86 runs in 85 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 7 fours. Abhishek Khandelwal and Amandeep Jaiswal took 2 wickets each.

In reply, the superb batting of Nikhil Gautam and Arpit Rana helped Bal Bhawan International School reached the target of 247 runs by losing 2 wickets in 32.1 overs. The highlight of the match was a partnership of 155 runs made from 113 balls for the first wicket between Nikhil Gautam and Arpit Rana. Nikhil Gautam scored 118 runs off 64 balls by hitting 7 sixes and 12 fours. Arpit Rana played an inning of 73 runs in 81 balls by hitting six and 8 fours.

Following the order of the Delhi government, the tournament committee secretary Pramod Sood has decided to postpone the tournament until further orders of the government.
