Babar Azam overtakes Hashim Amla
Pakistan’s batting superstar Babar Azam has been in vintage form in last couple of years specially in ODI format. Still very often criticized by his own country’s media about throwing away good starts Babar has quietly achieved a world record in ODI cricket stamping his class.
On Friday, 2 April Babar Azam scored an imperious 103 off 104 balls against South Africa which Pakistan won by 3 wickets in a nervy finish. That century was Babar’s 13th ODI 100 in 78 games and he took only 76 innings to achieve this landmark thus surpassing South Africa’s Hashim Amla who got his 13th ton in 83 innings. Virat Kohli achieved that landmark in 86 innings.
This it is a well deserved record for Babar who looks well poised to achieve more milestones in coming years.
