Azharuddin reinstated as HCA President
Former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin was briefly suspended from the post of the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association ( HCA) by the 5 member apex council of HCA where it was alleged that Azharuddin had violated to rules of HCA.
However, Azharuddin was reinstated back as the HCA president following the order passed by the Ombudsman Justice (retd) Deepak Verma. Who noted that the complaint registered against Azharuddin had not been forwarded to him, thus ruling out any legal validity.
Also, the five members of the Apex Council had been disqualified briefly in an interim order released by Justice Verma.
Justice Verma also expressed his opinion that the 5 member council was indulging in petty politics. Which goes against the values of the HCA.
One of the big accusations levelled by the 5 member apex council on Azharuddin was ” conflict of interest “.
It may be recalled that Azharuddin was elected for the HCA president post way back in 2019.
