Australia v West Indies T20I series preview

After an exciting 5 match T20I series vs South Africa, the West Indies is getting ready to host Australia for another 5 match T20I series, which promises to be a gripping contest between the top teams in T20I cricket.

Australia is back in international cricket since their T20I series against New Zealand last March. However, 7 of their top stars have skipped this series due to personal reasons, which could be mental fatigue after frequent stays in bio bubbles.

David Warner, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson are the players who are missing out.

Steve Smith has an elbow injury and hence was kept away from this series. Pat Cummins has rested due to mental fatigue. Moreover, as a fast bowler, he plays all the formats and is vital to Australia’s chances in the forthcoming ashes. As for the rest, they had been in bio bubbles in the IPL and therefore wants rest.

One of the main areas for Australia is to find a hard-hitting batter in the lower middle order. With Maxwell not playing this series, this is a great opportunity for any of the squad members to plug that spot. Australia v West Indies T20I series preview.

With the pitches being slow as we found in South Africa vs West Indies T20I series. The spinners can come into play and Australia have 3 good frontline tweakers in Agar, Zampa & Swepson.

Even without Cummins and the two Richardsons, the Australian pace attack looks lethal with Hazlewood, Starc and Meredith.

The probable Australia XI could be :

Finch, Wade, Phillipe , McDermott , Carey , Mitch Marsh , Ashton Agar , Starc , Hazlewood , Behrendorff & Zampa
