Aus v WI T20Is: “Gaylestorm” ensures series win for West Indies with 3-0 unassailable lead
It was another mediocre batting performance by Australia leading to an under-par target being set for a strong West Indies batting lineup. Another Chris Gayle special winning the series for West Indies with an unassailable 3-0 lead with 2 to play.
Batting first Australia started well with Wade (23 off 16 balls) striking the ball beautifully. Before getting bowled by McCoy, exposing his stumps. Finch(30) could not force the pace and both Marsh (9) and Carey (13) went cheaply. Ashton Turner (24) and Henriques (33) could not score at a high strike rate. As the Windies bowlers were skilful with their change of pace. Finally, Australia ended at an unimpressive 141/6.

In reply, an improved performance by Starc ensured early jitters from Windies batting. As they lost both their openers relatively cheaply. However, Gayle produced a blazing knock as he butched the Australian pace attack. Zampa with typically powerful strokes in his 67 from 37 balls with 7 sixes. Pooran (32 no) gave him good support to stay till the end. As West Indies win by 6 wickets with 5 overs to spare.
For Australia, Starc (1/15 off 4 overs) showed great improvement after his horror show in earlier games. Meredith got 3 wickets but was expensive.
With the series gone, Australia is expected to try more different batting combinations to get the right output. West Indies can rotate their players.
