Ashwin withdraws from IPL 2021 to support family to fight covid crisis

In a sensational development after Delhi Capitals superover win over Sunrisers, Delhi’s ace spinner Ravi Ashwin has announced that he is taking a break from IPL to support his family and extended family in their fight against covid. Ashwin further said that he may return to the IPL in later stages if things go in the right direction and improves.

Ashwin withdraws from IPL 2021 to support family to fight covid crisis. “I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals,” Ashwin said in a social media post in his Twitter handle.

Delhi Capitals has fully supported Ashwin’s move and responded accordingly.

Ashwin’s unavailability will be a huge blow for Delhi Capitals as not only he is the ace spinner of the team but also an active strategist of the bowling group.
