Ashwin reveals he was numb after losing the WTC final
Ravichandran Ashwin who gave India a glimmer of hope on the last day with back to back wickets of the openers with New Zealand still 95 behind the target in their tricky chase in the last session of the WTC final. Revealed that he was numb after the final wondering what went wrong!!.
Ashwin admitted that New Zealand was the well-deserved winner and was in the game right through. Swinging the ball around throughout the match. But the rub of the green did not go India’s way despite the team trying their best.
Ashwin did not expect that the 6th day will be of any use but it actually produced the result. He also stated that they did not play a game for one month after IPL was called off.
Ashwin felt that the whole team was surprised to see Williamson’s lbw nullified by the ball tracker. Which showed the ball missing the stumps and the match got over from there.
The off-spinner who took 4 wickets and bowled well in the game sympathized with the fans for India’s loss. Said they were justified for their sad feelings.
Signing off Ashwin hoped that India will soon be able to win another ICC tournament.
