Shubman Gill’s low returns of 69 runs in 4 innings has raised the question of whether Gill should be asked to drop down the order and allow Narine to open with Rana. Gill has been getting starts but not converting them to big scores.
Former Indian quick Ajit Agarkar feels that Gill is only missing out on big scores and he looked really good during his fiery 21 off 9 balls vs CSK. Hence Agarkar feels that Gill should continue to open along with Rana who is already doing really well and the time has not yet come to make such a hurried change by opening with Narine.
Agarkar also added that one should not give up on one player after just four knocks and Gill is a quality player.
Agarkar further added that it is however good that KKR can use Narine as a floater in the batting order as they had always done and the opening option is always there but not required now .
