AB De Villiers likely to return to IPL in RCB colours next season , suspense prevails on his role

Former South African batsman and swashbuckling batsman AB de Villiers, who has played for RCB in IPL, has said that he will return in next year’s IPL.  De Villiers, who retired from all forms of cricket a few months ago, has not participated in IPL 2022, in which RCB will play their eliminator match on Wednesday.  He said that he is yet to know in what form he will return.  De Villiers told VUSport that I will definitely return to the IPL next year.  I would love to return to my second home.

AB de Villiers has said that I will return to RCB next year, I am missing it, do not know in what form I will return, but I would like to visit my second home Chinnaswamy Stadium.  I am looking forward to it.  A few days back, he was inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame along with West Indies’ Chris Gayle.  Considered one of the greatest white-ball cricketers of all time with 9,577 runs in 228 ODIs, AB de Villiers became the first South African batsman to score a double century in Tests in April 2008, scoring 217 against India.

De Villiers, one of the most explosive batsmen in ODIs, scored both the fastest fifty and the fastest century by a batsman in 16 balls and 31 balls in January 2018.  He joined Royal Challengers Bangalore and ranks sixth in the list of highest run-scorers in the IPL, with 5,162 runs in 170 innings at an average of 38.70 and a strike rate of 151.68.
