Indian vs England T20I 5-match series has come to an end, making team India and team India fans elated. The 5th match was quite interesting as well as special for the host team as they registered a massive score of 224 and England couldn’t chase it. After the match when the skipper, Virat Kohli spoke, he was all praises for the team, especially batsmen.
India won the match by 36 runs and Kohli gave credit to the batting depth of the team. And the captain is right to do so as two of their batsmen did not even get a chance to play yet the team had built a glorious score of 224 runs. The match at Narendra Modi Stadium, at Moetra, Ahemdabad, brought a cause for celebration for the team. It was the series-decider match and India won it with suave.
BATSMEN PLAYED AT THEIR BEST
Virat Kohli was at his best and hit 80 runs off 52 balls. To top it off, the skipper remained not out throughout the match. But it’s a team sport and until all the players give incredible performances, it cannot be an incredible match.
Kohli was accompanied by dependable Rohit Sharma. Match opener, Rohit Sharma smashed 64 runs in 34 balls. Later came Suryakumar Yadav who contributed 32 runs off 17 balls. Hardik Pandya also did his bit and stayed with the skipper till the end. Pandya added 34 more runs to the tally and he created this score in 17 balls which is amazing.
“COMPLETE GAME FOR US”
All these performances gave Kohli the chance to proudly say that “It was a complete game for us.” Indian team totally outplayed the opposite team and that too when the conditions were not exactly favorable for the players. There was a lot of dew coming in but the team did it. Kohli-led team “defended the total” again.
Kohli also mentioned Rishabh Pant and Iyer who did not get a chance to play and yet the team created this huge score of 224 runs in 20 overs. This is a testimony to how great the team is and its batting depth.
“CLASSIC ROHIT SHARMA”
Kohli did not forget to mention Rohit Sharma. He said that they were both positive in their intent. They trusted each other and knew that if one of them had to go back, the other would go on. Kohli called Sharma’s inning “classic Rohit Sharma”.
Kohli mentioned that he was “particularly pleased with Surya”. He did not have much in terms of negatives.
