Shreyas Iyer’s valiant 67 off 48 balls was not enough to take India to a strong position as the hosts were off yo a poor start and kept losing wickets to finish at a mediocre 124/7 in 20 overs.

India started poorly in powerplay losing 20/3 with both Rahul (1) and Dhawan (4) looking rusty after playing their first international match after a long while and Kohli’s(0) poor run continued as he hit Rashid straight to mid offs hands .

Pant (21) showed glimpses of his best reverse sweeping Archer for 6 over third man by Stokes got him soon. Hardik (19) struggled but Shreyas was the only batter who looked on song and played a fine innings but didnt get the required support to take India to a better total.

For England Jofra Archer (3/23) and Mark Wood (1/20) bowled with high pace and others chipped in well.

At half time England looks as favourites to win.

Score:  India 124/7 ( Iyer 67, Archer 3/23)
